AiEMS
Smart storage for commercial and industrial sites
Peak shaving, tariff optimisation and demand response for factories, industrial parks and office buildings.
- Battery storage
- Solar
- Buildings & homes
- Grid
- Modbus
- SunSpec
- OpenADR
- MQTT
Who it is for
Sites with a battery, or planning one, where the electricity bill is driven by demand charges and time-of-use tariffs.
- Factories with contracted demand limits
- Industrial parks with shared infrastructure
- Office and commercial buildings with rooftop solar
What goes wrong today
- Demand charges set by a handful of peaks
- A few hours a month decide the bill, and no one is watching those hours.
- Storage sized but not scheduled
- Batteries follow a fixed schedule that ignores tomorrow's weather, tariff or production plan.
- Demand response left on the table
- Programmes exist, but joining them means another vendor and another dashboard.
What AiEMS does
AiEMS forecasts site load and solar, plans battery dispatch against tariffs and demand limits, and executes it at the edge.
- Peak shaving
- Discharge ahead of forecast peaks and keep contracted demand intact.
- Tariff optimisation
- Charge when energy is cheap, discharge when it is expensive, adjusted daily.
- Demand response
- Bid flexibility into utility and aggregator programmes, and deliver it automatically.
- Solar self-consumption
- Store midday surplus instead of exporting it at a loss.
How it works, step by step
Connect
Connect batteries, inverters and meters over Modbus and SunSpec.
Monitor
Watch site load, state of charge and solar output in one view.
Predict
Forecast load, generation and tariff windows for the coming days.
Optimise
Plan dispatch that respects demand limits and battery health.
Control
Execute at the edge, with the safety envelope enforced locally.
Monetise
Enrol the site in demand response and settle on the platform.
What you get
- Lower demand charges
- Peaks are shaved before they set the bill.
- Cheaper energy
- Storage arbitrages tariff windows every day.
- New revenue
- Flexibility is sold into demand response programmes.
- One system
- Storage, solar and load in a single model.
How a deployment runs
Start with an assessment of your tariff and load data, prove the savings in a pilot, then scale to more sites and join aggregation.

Common questions
Do I need to replace my battery or inverter?
No. AiEMS is hardware neutral and connects to existing equipment over Modbus and SunSpec.
What happens if the site loses connectivity?
The edge agent keeps running the last plan locally and stays inside the safety limits until the cloud reconnects.
Can AiEMS work without solar?
Yes. Solar improves the economics, but peak shaving and tariff optimisation work on storage alone.
How long does an assessment take?
Usually a few weeks from receiving tariff and interval data to a written savings estimate and a pilot proposal.
Does it work with our existing energy management system?
Yes. AiEMS can sit alongside a building management or SCADA system and take over dispatch of the storage and flexible loads only.
